CEMETERY OF SENATOR ALI FAHMI BEY


This is one of Imam al-Shafei's more beautiful cemeteries along with its now derelict garden. Therein is buried the senator from Banha and his Turkish wife Nurshefa Celik. Ali Fahmi Bey's grandson was the renown London artist Issam Sabah al-Saiid, a grandson of the assassinated Iraqi prime minister Nouri al-Saiid.
