"A Brief of Kurds and Kurdistan; from antiquity to present" written by Kurdish-Iraki Senator Mohammed Amin Zaki Bey (1880-1948) and translated from Kurdish into Arabic by Mohammed Ali Awny. In his Arabic translation edition Awny added considerable footnotes and elucidations.

The Kurdish issue was explicitly formulated by Kurds living in Europe. Among the first to speak of a Kurdish cause was Dr. Bletch Chirguh (a.k.a. Celadet Bedirkhan) in his book "La Question Kurde" published in Cairo in 1930 by the Kurdish national organisation Khoybun.
